Interview with a Green: Sundays-Then and Now

Dallin and I were discussing how different our Sundays have become since getting married.  We found it amusing and thought we might share.  Sorry if you don't find it as amusing.  Get a little sleep deprived, as we are, and you might find the post more entertaining...

Sunday Mornings
Then:
Kelli- Wake up around 9, eat some breakfast, read a little, take a shower, spend about an hour getting ready while chatting with roomies.
Dallin- Wake up to a quite house. Wander out to the kitchen and pour a bowl of cereal. Maybe go back to bed since singles ward didn't start 'til the afternoon. Actually, looking back I had a pretty sweet deal.
Now:
Kelli-Wake up with the babes around 7:30, feed the babes while Dallin showers, quickly shower and get ready within 20 minutes while getting everything in the diaper bag for church, walk briskly to church because we are usually late, try to get the babes to sleep during sacrament so that we can enjoy at least one meeting.
Dallin- Wake up at 7:30, and walk (seems like I'm blindfolded) to the shower. Take a hot shower and get dressed for 9 o'clock church. Watch Luke and get breakfast ready (whatever works) and burp the babes before walking to church. Kelli usually takes Luke out of sacrament meeting to feed him, while I pace up and down the halls of the church during Sunday School.  I'm pretty sure that I have my own designated hallway from 10:15 to 11:00.  No other parent dares to walk my hall during that time.

Sunday Afternoons
Then:
Kelli- Go to church around 12:45, socialize a bit before church starts, enjoy all three meetings with peers, come home or go to a friend's house for a little meal/get together, take a nap.
Dallin- Went to church. That took all afternoon.
Now:
Kelli-Come home from church, often a little early because babes is crying, feed babes, change, feed self (usually leftovers), put babes down for nap, watch a show with the hubs, maybe take a snooze.
Dallin- Cook lunch because I am usually starving. Grilled cheese with fry sauce is delicious is a favorite. Luke generally takes a nap when we get home which allows us to relax and maybe even take a nap as well:)

Sunday Evenings
Then:
Kelli- have dinner with peers at some sort of get together, watch movies, play games, go to the beach and watch the sunset, come home around 11pm, read, go to bed around 12am.
Dallin- Family dinner. It was always a fun time. Occasionally, some basketball in the evening and then it was hanging out with the babes from the ward. . . . . So, they actually cooked dinner for a lot of people and I attended the meals. That's what I mean.
Now:
Kelli- Either make breakfast for dinner (a tradition in our little family) or go to great aunt's for the "classic," dry roast, maybe watch a show, clean dishes, maybe have a friend over for dinner, put babes to bed around 7:30pm, chat with Dallin, read, bed by 9:30pm.
Dallin- Walks. I feel that we go on walks every Sunday, as long as it is not raining or snowing. Have dinner at Kelli's second cousins home as well as with her great aunt. They have a little dog that loves to bark at you when you come in and beg for food at the table. 

Although our lives might seem less eventful, they are not.  We had fun in our single years, but LOVE where we are and the adventures we get to have.  True, there is less time for "me time," but the alternative is pretty sweet, too.  Getting to spend Sundays with the spouse and little one, makes the whole week a little better.
