Luke is 3-Years-Old

Oh, my mommy heart is bursting with all sorts of emotions today as we celebrate your THIRD birthday. Lukey-boy, you drive me completely bonkers sometimes but that is only because I lose sight of how truly magical the world is in your eyes. You are intrigued by EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. That is one of the traits I love most about you, but also the one that causes the most conflict between us when we need to get things done or be places. Thank you for reminding me daily to stop and enjoy this beautiful life we live.

Here is what you are up to these days:

• Vehicles of every kind are always on your mind. You turn everything into a vehicle and your vehicles all have personalities that you have given them. You can name pretty much every construction truck, farm machine and car on the street and tell us what it does.

• Cars, Mighty Machines, RescueBots and Good Dinosaur are some of your favorites to watch

• Your best friends are Parker and Caleb. You adore both.

• Your ability to climb anything and everything amazes and frustrates me. Amazes me at the park when you climb the highest rock wall with ease. Frustrates me when you are scaling my kitchen cabinets.

• You are slowly gaining interest in baseball and soccer. 

• Running, laughing, jumping, being silly, going wild and sprinklers are favorite past times.

• Gerry is still your buddy. However, you have deemed Gerry as a girl and Dexter, your stuffed dragon, as a boy. You love both dearly.

• Your favorite songs are "Tractor," "Best Day of My Life," "I Just Can't Wait to Be King," "Life is a Highway," "I've Been Working on the Railroad," and "Strange Things."

• You're starting to get more confidant on your balance bike and are excited to start your pedal bike.

• Puzzles are easy peasy.

• You would read books all day long with me if it were an option

• You love to talk 

• Making funny faces is a daily occurrence

• You are super independent and can get yourself dressed, pour your own milk and water, spread your jam, cut your food, clear your place after meals, sweep, help feed Caleb and so many other things. 

• Fear is not really in your vocabulary. Except for swings. Still not a fan of swings. Everything else though, including new people and big obstacles don't phase you one bit. 

Happy birthday, Leroy. You bring joy and light into our lives, constantly. Don't stop shining!
