Funfilled March and Changing April

Whew! March and April were packed full of adventures and moving. That's right. Moving! We decided to rent a little unit in a fourplex in Bountiful seeing as the housing market for buyer's right now in Utah is just INSANE. Actually, insane might be an understatement. Prices on houses have gone up a ton in just the past couple of months; good properties are getting multiple offers within hours of being put on the market; multiple offers are being put on not so great properties within hours and people are offering thousands above asking price and still not getting it because someone else has offered even more and done crazy things! So, we decided being together all week, Dallin not having to commute 4-hours each week and having our own space was more important than toughing it out for a house for who knows how long. Therefore, we moved back to Bountiful! It feels good to be back. I think Luke is the most excited seeing as he has his best friend back and is on cloud 9 when they are together.

Now, backtracking to March. We started the month with some sunshine! It only lasted a few days before snow and coldness crept back in, but what else do you expect from Idaho? We took full advantage of the sunshine with quad rides, dirt digging, gardening, tractor rides and bike riding. We all desperately needed that vitamin D!

For our anniversary, grandma and grandpa got kid duty and we went on a little adventure to Pocatello for dinner and trampoline world. Nothing like celebrating six years of marriage like looking like fools bouncing all over the place. It was fun getting to just be crazy for a few hours.

The boys all got nasty colds at the beginning of March, the first ones of winter. We managed to stay healthy ALL winter and then Caleb got a stomach bug, followed by an infected finger from a snagged hangnail, followed by both getting croup, ending with Caleb getting a double ear infection and another cold. It was no bueno and I was so grateful when the end of March came with health for all!

Luke was super excited for St Patrick's Day this year and was determined to catch a Leprachaun. He made a trap, then was up super early to see the tricks he played. From then on, everything that seemed out of sorts to him, he blamed on "That darn Leprechaun!" It was fun getting to see that come alive in his little, magical eyes.

We got to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st. Worldwide, people wear crazy socks to represent chromosomes since Down Syndrome is an extra chromosome, and celebrate those with Down Syndrome. I have been filled with so much love, hope and joy on this day the past 2 years as I see so many people embracing, supporting and sincerely celebrating our little loves with extra Chromosomes.

We ended March with another weekend trip to Utah where Dallin and I got to enjoy his Christmas gift, tickets to an Eric Church concert, as well as a sleep study for Caleb to check up on his sleep apnea. The concert was a lot of fun, and much needed night out. Eric Church was a great performer! We thought, for a little bit, that I had met another country artists, but it turns out that we both are just horrible at recognizing whether or not a person is actually a celebrity.

For the sleep study, they put nodes all over the head and body. Caleb always come home all greased up after from the stuff they use to take off the adhesive. It always takes at least 3 days to get it all off!

 He also got fitted for SMO's to help with his flat feet and ankles turning in. He doesn't seem to mind them at all and the only shoes we found that fit over them are little converse. I'm not complaining, because he they fit his personality perfectly!

 We stayed with the Watts, again. We are so grateful for them! Luke is in love with Sara and constantly asks when he gets to see her.

While on our trip to Utah, we met with the people who bought the house we lived in in Bountiful, who happen to also have 12 other properties. We had decided that with the housing market the way it was, we should just rent again for a bit until the market cools down a little or we find out that we are supposed to be somewhere else (we're lookin' at you Phoenix or Colorado!). The people happened to have a unit in Bountiful open up just that month, so they gave us a great deal and we signed a lease. Which means, we are back in Bountiful as of the 22nd! I think Luke is mostly excited to have his best friend just 5 minutes away, again. He was a sad little boy without his partner in crime, Parker.

But, before we moved back, we got to celebrate uncle Brad graduating college. He is officially a geology aficionado with the hat and degree to prove it. Luke ended up having a little "water poop" episode right before we were all supposed to go to Rexburg, so unfortunately, they stayed in McCammon. We didn't want to risk having an episode on the way up, during the ceremony or any other time!

While nana was in town for her spring break, we swooped her away to Kanab for a little adventure in Southern Utah. We hiked to Scout's Lookout in Zion National Park, which is the landing right before Angel's landing. The plan was to hike to the top of Angel's, but, alas, it was so busy (being spring break for many), that it was taking people an hour and half to get to the top. It usually takes 15 minutes. We decided to save nana's sanity, who was watching the boys at Scout's Lookout, and forgo the landing. The hike was still beautiful and it was beyond worth it to see Luke hike the ENTIRE 5 miles, inspiring people at every turn.

The rest of the trip was spent being tourists in Kanab, as well as exploring the Moqui Cave Museum and a little visit to Bryce Canyon and the Pink Sand Dunes, which both boys LOVED. Overall, it was the perfect little getaway.

 

Easter was pretty lowkey. We went the Lehmitz family Easter party and then spent Easter Sunday with the Watts Family just enjoying the sunshine, ham, amazing scalloped potatoes and an egg hunt put on by Easter Bunny Sara. We sure love that family and are grateful for all they did for us!

'We are grateful to be all together, all week again (I secretly got super anxious every Tuesday morning and Thursday evening while Dallin made the drive to and from Utah). We are grateful that we don't share a room with our boys full time anymore - I think we ALL sleep better. And we are EXTREMELY grateful for the Greens in letting us disrupt their quiet retirement with our little circus and putting up with all my craziness the boys' love of life. They are true saints.
