November started with a bang as Luke took on the challenge while getting the oil changed in the car to pull his tooth out...at the mechanic...for a gumball machine gumball...Yup. He just yanked that tooth out, impressing another patron in the waiting room so much that he gave him extra quarters to get more gumballs.
He also had his first wrestling match after four weeks of practicing. I, personally, struggled watching the matches, but he seemed to enjoy it and didn't give up. He even taught Caleb some moves and they melt my heart when they decide to have wrestling matches at home.
A sweet woman in our ward gave us tickets to Disney on Ice, just because. I stayed home with the Aida-Beta (who definitely turns into a pumpkin around 7:30pm), while Dallin took the boys to watch Disney characters gallivant around on ice skates. I don't know if they enjoyed it quite as much as last year, but it was a fun outing for them.
Since Thanksgiving was so late this year, we decided to put up all of our Christmas decorations before we left to celebrate in Colorado. Luke was so excited to get to go out on the roof with Dallin to hang lights. I'm grateful he can't reach the top lock on his bedroom window seeing as soon after this excursion, he expressed to us how he thinks it would be so cool to sleep on the roof. Just giving us a little taste of what Luke will be like as a teenager...
Aida and Caleb are quickly becoming one another's favorite people. They just giggle with each other and constantly seek one another out. Where you can find one, you can usually find the other. Aida is also showing her little personality, following in suit with her silly brothers. She is loving exploring foods, but still loves nursing.
And that brings us to our road trip to Broofield for Thanksgiving. We had angels watching out for us seeing as every route had massive storms, except for the one we decided to travel, the exact days we travelled. The roads were completely clear and we made it without a hiccup, there and back. Such a blessing! The kiddos, as per usual, were good little road trippers and so excited to get to spend time with grandma Bev, Oscar, papa, Terri, Lexi and Isaac. The weather kept us inside mostly, but we loved just being with our loved ones. We even braved the freezing cold for a visit to the Denver Zoo lights and enjoyed a delicious dinner, but more so the company we were surrounded with. Commence picture overload, including Caleb writing some letters at grandma Bev's desk, a crisp Thanksgiving morning walk after a massives storm and lots of snuggles all around.
With that, we welcome in the Christmas season! It is always hard to leave our family, but are excited to celebrate the birth of our Savior and welcome in 2020.
