Turkey trotting into the Holidays

Thanksgiving came and went with successful joy.  Tom roasted nicely to a golden brown with plenty of juicy goodness.  All our guests brought delicious sides that completely filled our table with lip smacking goodness.  Overall, the only thing we could complain about was that we were not with ALL our family, but are more than grateful to have been able to have some family there to celebrate with us.

For our food settling time before dessert, we played Quelf...yes, we just might be obsessed with the game, but for good reasons.  Playing with 10 people was awesome!  No word describes the experience much better than awesome. We had Brad putting water on his head, hand holding all around, praises being raised to the Chinese biscuit king, and many other Quelf experiences.  Enjoy some videos and pictures of the Quelf fun.  If you don't think they are funny, well, then I guess you had to be there because we could not stop laughing the whole game.

Spreading the love with our Thanksgiving guests

Love those boys, and they love each other...

Love Dallin's face in the beginning

Poor Leone had to go to the bathroom while upholding her rule which was hold a spatula and always have one hand facing the nearest wall and one on her knee...

Yes, he is hula dancing. We need to take the kid to Hawaii.

Self explanatory.

After the company had left (except Brad, whom we had the pleasure to spend the weekend with), we discovered that our bathroom and kitchen sinks had decided to stop draining; worse yet, our bathroom sink decided it wanted to spit back up blackness.  This gave Brad and Dallin the opportunity to be fix-it men, Brad getting to use his plumbing merit badge abilities.  They disassembled both drain pipes to find this in the bathroom pipe:

Grossness

It is okay to be disgusted.  We were.  Dallin valiantly scrapped the goo from the black lagoon out while Brad loyally held the flashlight and I sat in the other room giving moral support after making them explore the drain problem further.  That is what the wife is supposed to do, right?  Now, before you judge me for being sexist in saying women should not fix things, I must share with you that while living in SLO, I fixed a bathtub spout that shot off at my roommate in the middle of her shower, which the plumber my landlord sent over said was a job good enough for any professional, fixed a leaking faucet and got rid of our fair share of nasty insects including a scorpion and millipede.  Yes, I am proud of these accomplishments.  Anyway, the men of the house did a very fine job on the pipes and we now have working drains.  Hooray!

We also went to the Salt Lake cemetary while Brad was here to hunt down the Prophet's headstones.  We found many, but our goal was to find President Gordon B. Hinckley's.  After searching for an hour and a half, walking a good bit since the cemetery is HUGE, we decided to head back to the car.  As we walked back, I kept searching until, finally, up on the hill we saw it, President Hinckley's grave!  We did not leave defeated.  There is a special spirit visiting the graves of such wonderful men.

Not one of Dallin's best pictures.  Caught him off guard

On Sunday night, we joined Suzi and Tyson to see the Temple Square Christmas lights.  Always beautiful.

Dallin's favorite shot of the night

These lanterns had scenes from Christ's life on them. Beautiful.

We also got our little Christmas tree on Saturday.  His name is Fred, he is a noble fir, and he nobly stands in our living room at 5'5" and plump.  We love him and the festiveness he brings to our little home.

We found him!

Fred being noble

This weekend we are having a little getaway to McCammon to visit grandma Green.  Boy are we excited to get away from Salt Lake for a weekend.

We miss all our family and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  Until next time, we love you all!
