Original Pancake House - A
We went on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and were seated promptly and greeted by a very friendly waitress. Deanne got the Hawaiian pancakes made with fresh fruit, Bonnie got waffles, both their main plates which come with sides, Dallin got a plate filled with meats, potatoes, pancakes and yumminess and I, along with the other three guests, cannot remember even in the slightest what I got, but it was good. All plates were $10 or less, filled to the brims with food. All in all, we were very pleased with our visit to the Pancake House.
Belgian Waffle House - C-
We went on the Fourth of July around 10:00am, greeted by a smell of B.O. in the front entryway, confused hostess and a 15 minute wait to be seated. When we were, our waitress was cheery, but the others were kind of sketchy looking... Deanne and I ordered waffles with strawberries (frozen and thawed) which, to our disappointment, came with no sides and only ONE waffle. Dallin and Bonnie got pancakes, with no sides. All plates were $8-10, not filled to the brim in the least bit. Over all, we were not pleased with our visit to the Belgian Waffle House. I am honestly surprised that no one got food poisoning.
So, if you were ever wondering which to go with during a visit to Salt Lake, go with the Original Pancake House. Does anyone have any other suggestions for breakfast places?
As for what we have been doing, we went to a Chris Young concert (the tickets I won from a radio station) a few weeks ago. It was an all day event so we arrived at 3pm, got plenty of sun, plenty of people watching, and enjoyed some good country music.

| About 6pm, hot, sweaty and eagerly anticipating the sun to sink behind the buildings, but having fun!
Two weeks ago, we were joined by Matt and Jamie to visit to the Hogle Zoo to see the new polar bear exhibit, Rocky Shores. The exhibit just opened this year and we were happy to see such a happy polar bear. He was doing flips, playing with his toys and just showing off for the crowd. The new grizzly bear cubs were pretty fun to watch too as they swam in their streams, trying to stay cool. The elephant show, however was a little sad seeing as the elephants do not really like baths and that was what they were doing during the show. The grandma elephant is the oldest in North America at age 53 and she just stood in a corner, pouting that she was there. Eventually, the baby elephant had some fun, but it was not as entertaining as the polar bear. We were so entranced and surrounded by tons of people that we did not get a picture of any of these animals, but did get ones of the giraffes and Dallin being an elephant-guess we did get a picture of the elephants, just not while they were getting bathed-they need SOME privacy.

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July, as well as are keeping cool in the hot summer weather. We are grateful for the little bit of rain we got yesterday to cool things down a bit.
