Very bittersweet day as we reflect back on how a year ago, today, we were just chilling in the hospital, snuggling our newborn little boy and now he is a crawling, laughing, screaming, moving machine!
Here is what you have been up to, Spud:
- Figuring out walking. We all think you can but you just don't want to because you are faster at crawling.
- Obsessed with blueberries and watermelon. Preferred them over cake...
- You wish that I would just let you live outside
- You will sign for "all done," "open," "eat," and "milk"
- Gives the sweetest kisses any boy could give
- Pretty sure the shopping cart is a go-cart as you stand in the basket and squeal as we roll through the store
- Will now say "mama" instead of just "dada" when he wants one of us
- So, so, SO silly
- Climbs on couches and then rolls off
- You try to get your hands on any electronic you can
- Books, books, books
- food, food, food
- Best. Laugh. Ever.
Here are some pictures from his festivities:

Oh, sweet Lukey-boy, we love you so very much! This past year has taught us more than you will ever know. We are grateful for every day (even the ones mom felt she was going to lose her mind) that you have been in our lives. Happy, happy birthday! We are incredibly excited for the adventures that lay ahead. All our love, mom and dad.
Thanks to all those that made Luke's day so very special with phone calls, gifts and well wishes. He is one loved baby (no more) boy.
