Weekend in Denver

We were blessed with the opportunity to go to Colorado for a weekend to visit my family. Although we were only there for 3 days, we packed those days with as much as we possibly could. Luke was such a trooper with car based cat naps and late nights.

When we got in, Terri picked us up and took us to get some delicious burgers. I mean, mine had arugula, balsamic, apples and brie on it. Mouthwatering. Dallin got his longed for buffalo burger and Luke enjoyed a hot dog.

We then made a stop at the park, where the adults, once again, failed miserably at geocaching while Luke played his little heart out. Still weary of swings. Is my kid the only one who strongly dislikes swings and are we the only ones who have yet to find a geocache?!

Dallin found Terri's Mardi Gras beads in the toy box...
The next item of business that day was to have dinner with the Dunnings. Grandma D graciously hosted all of Bruce's family as well as us. It brought back good memories of growing up with all of the cousins running a muck as we watched our kiddos (6 great grandsons) play with the toys we played with. It was good to see them all, BBQ and visit.

Half of the boys/ the ONLY picture I got all night. Fail!
The next day, we made our way to papa Baldwin's to visit with him, Bev and his dogs, Felix and Oscar. It was such a treat to get to spend some good time with them, hopefully bringing a little spirit booster for the next few months to my papa. Luke loved playing with Felix and laying in their dog beds.

Just my size

He's so fluffy!!

Love these people

That evening we were able to go over to Katie (my forever roomie) and Kevin's, for dinner and March Madness. When we were making plans, Dallin asked me if Kevin likes sports. I literally laughed out loud because I have never met someone as passionate about all sports as Kevin. We had a nice, relaxing evening filled with giggles, catching up, getting to see their cute first home and cat snuggling on Luke's part.

Does Luke look a little tired?

The next morning before heading back to Utah, we made good use of Terri's Zoo membership, getting there right when it opened. We basically had the zoo to ourselves! It was marvelous not to have to wait to see animals or try to play human Tetris to get a view.

The jumping challenge: Dallin got a polar bear

Kelli got a jack rabbit

Terri got a flea. Please zoom in on her face...

and Luke got a little air

Hippos!

We then went to Benny's, a favorite Mexican place for some lunch before the airport. Luke was so exhausted he slept on Dallin all of lunch, something that has not happened since he was probably 3 months old.

March Madness, mexican cuisine and a snoozing babe; life is good

Terri finally got some snuggles
We had such a fun trip and were bummed it had to be so quick, but being an adult with a job does that sometimes. Love you, Colorado Family!
