First, let's get the bump taken care of so that Spudnik doesn't feel left out:

We cannot believe that he will be here in just 9 weeks! Where did this pregnancy go?! I am completely infatuated with his big brother, and have my worries of having enough love for both, but I know it will blow my mind how much love my heart can have. Name suggestions are welcome because we are completely stumped...
A couple of weeks ago, Dallin and I were able to go to San Diego, sans Luke. I dropped the babe off at grandma and grandpa's, cried like a baby as I drove away, then joined my hubby for a late night flight to California where my dad had helped us get a key location hotel room for five days of relaxation. Leaving Luke was by far, one of the hardest things I had ever had to do, which sounds silly since I knew he was perfectly fine and safe. It was the first time we had left him for more than a few hours, and it felt like I was leaving a piece of my heart in Idaho. He missed me for about 10 seconds, thanks to the expertise of grandma, and then proceeded to have the time of his life on the farm. He daily will ask me to go on the quad, tractor or hunt rockchucks, as well as for pancakes. In fact, he has turned his Lightening McQueen race car into his own personal quad. So grateful we have such great family!

While Luke was living it up, we were enjoying just being lazy. We started with some delicious breakfast burritos on Mission Beach, followed by some pool lounging, a bout around the ghetto of San Diego to get some groceries where Dallin is 98% sure he witnessed a drug deal occur at a stop light.

The next day, we visited the Mormon Battalion and explored Old Town. We also did a tour of the Whaley House, which apparently is haunted. This inspired Dallin to take a million pictures, attempting to capture a spirit on film. No such luck. We then got to have dinner with some buddies from SLO at Dallin's new favorite hamburger joint, Slater's 50/50. He took a picture of his burger which I always know he is looking at as he releases an audible moan of longing to eat it again.

The following day, we attempted to go to the San Diego temple, except our recommends were expired (fail), but the nice temple worker told us about the Cabrillo lighthouse in Point Loma. Luckily for us, it was still National Park week, which meant that we got to see the landmark for free. Always makes something better. It was fun to see the lighthouse, as well as the amazing view!

We spent a day in La Jolla where we ate at the same restaruant we did while we were there on our anniversary, as well as relaxed by the seals on the beach. Such a gorgeous beach!
That about sums up our little trip. We honestly just enjoyed not chasing a toddler, being able to enjoy eating out without entertaining a toddler, and just being able to sit around, letting our brains turn off for a bit. Don't get me wrong, we were beyond excited to get back to the Spud, but having those five days of downtime were just what the Dr. ordered.
