Rewind on February

Guys. There are daffodils budding in yards. Do you know what that means?! We survived another winter! Mother nature, of course, is trying to keep us on our toes with 70 degree weather one day, then snow and freezing cold wind the next. She has to keep it real. Nevertheless, the trees are still rocking their green buzz cuts, the flowers are peeking up from the brown ground and grass tips are turning green. We survived.

The last month of winter, we got some visitors to help it a little more bearable! Papa Baldwin and Uncle Bubs came to spend Super Bowl weekend with us which included sledding, food and fun. Luke was all for sledding, until Dallin wiped out hard with him on the very first run. Poor kid was traumatized for life. It's the swings all over again. The only way we could get him to go down after that was on a tube, telling him that he needed to keep Caleb safe. Kudos to the kid for being such a brave big brother. Boo on him despising sledding.

The rest of the gang had fun, though!

The first ride!
Shortly after the epic wipe-out. "I'm cool, dad."
"Make a snow angel, Luke!" "Nah. I'll just lay here and eat snow."

This awesome sled hill is just minutes from our house, behind a middle school

Conquering his fears for baby brother

Wouldn't ride on the sled, but he would take it for walks over little jumps

Scheming their next run

Having a heart to heart with the sled

Caleb and I stayed nice and cozy

Those eyes...that nose...my heart

Dallin convinced him to go down on the tube. Brad in the back is my favorite

Papa's blood has thinned. His younger, Colorado-native self would be so disappointed

Brad trying to convince Luke to go down with him..."Nah. I'll just slide on my butt."

Seriously though. You would never guess that completely surrounding this is a completely suburban neighborhood

Dallin trying to figure out how to not crash

The sledding gang, 2 deflated tubes (swimming tubes are not built for sledding) and the snowy tundra
For some reason, our dads have an obsession with our refrigerator. When the Greens were helping out while we were in the NICU with Caleb, Erban took on the mission of ensuring our fridge was the optimal, cooling temperature. Long story short, our lettuce froze and the cheap Walmart brand thermometers are not reliable. BUT! He took care of us.

Fast forward a few months, Papa B took on the task of switching the doors to open from the more logical side of the fridge. Granted, this has been driving me a little bonkers since we moved in, so I was inwardly shouting for joy that he took it on himself to fix this. I'm trying not to feel offended that we are boring enough that they need to find things to fix in our house and our fridge is the only entertainment.

When I saw this picture I thought, "WOW! Dad looks really tall! Then, I remembered he was standing on Luke's potty stool...

Their related. Cereal for days
Getting to see our Broncos win Super Bowl 50 was probably a major highlight of the weekend. Dallin got to see the intense competitive, lively side that really only comes out when dad is spectating sports, we convinced Luke that we were watching football, not Rugby, and we indulged in some awesome Super Bowl food made by Papa B. It was so good, we didn't even get a picture of it!

The Bronco pie. Tasted WAY better than it looks

Hanging out with papa

Brad teaching Luke the rules of the game
We did get a picture of some of the yummy food. Luke was in heaven. Cheese, chips, shrimp, ranch dressing, pie...life doesn't get much better.

Bronco baby

Hooray!!
Thanks, auntie Terri for our Broncos swag!
The following weekend, we ventured up to McCammon to escape the inversion. So grateful we really only had the one bad weekend and that we have the Greens to run away to! They also let Dallin and I have a little date night at the Pokie bowling ally. We were going to go to Lava hot springs, since I have yet to experience them, but the idea of renting swimsuits really didn't sound appealing to me...Call me OCD. Bowling was awesome. Sledding was attempted again. Aebleskivers were consumed. Tractors and quads were driven and grandparents were happily exhausted by the end of our two-day-stay.

Left this (that is not fog, people...)

To breathe this!

Cosmic bowling!!

Helping make breakfast with monster trucks

This kid loves grandma snuggles

Watching grandpa build a sledding hill with his tractor

Look at that fresh air!

Rocking the snow bunny look
That's right. Get nice and ashy right before we leave...
The rest of the month was spent with follow-up ENT visits for Caleb's tubes, food, finding indoor activities to keep us sane, figuring out better ways to keep Caleb's nasal cannula in at night since the tape bugged his little cheeks and finally enjoying some warm, lovely vitamin D inducing sunshine!

Oh how this squishy little bug makes my heart smile!

While visiting with one of Caleb's therapists, we look over to find Luke expressing himself in body paint.

Luke kept sneaking into our bed in the middle of the night, which he has never done in his life. We finally figured he was cold, so he started sleeping with a beanie on, and has stayed in his bed every night since!

While at Costco, we passed the Jelly Bellys. Luke says, "Oh. Papa will just buy me some Jelly beans from the jelly bean factory." I told papa, and the next week Luke got, quite possibly, the best package of his life.

Tom & Jerry while waiting for the ENT
Yeah...eating out with these two is an adventure. Luke was upset because we told him we were going to Blue Plate Diner and his plate wasn't blue. Oh, to be two.
Our first solution to the cannula dilemma. Worked great!

Then we found O2KidsLids. Same concept, less hot!

This kid loves food. He just sucked all the good stuff out of this asparagus

When you go to Chik-fil-a and get a boat in your kids meal, a midday bath is necessary

Just breaking herts, snuggly with Marley the moose

Sunshine. No snow. No jacket. HEAVEN!

Luke found this tie in a box of hand-me-downs and wore it all day. Full blown meltdown when it fell off.

That smile...

Jump in for some fun!

MMMMM avocado

"Look, dad! It's a tortilla mustache!"

Looking at the rainstorm

We have decided to make our own bread because we go through it so fast. Best. Decision ever. Mel's Kitchen Cafe does it again!

We also have been making our own baby food. You gotta do what you gotta do when you have medical bills up the wazoo! This one looks gross, but it was good. At least Caleb thought so.

Enjoying the sunshine!

Scootering!

Trying out this bike after a few month's break

Still a favorite toy. Thanks, bubs!

Cold day entertainment

When brother thinks you need a bubble mustache

Those eyes are trouble

Brother bathtime!
As you can tell, we are beyond excited for the warmer weather! Cabin fever was hitting hard.

Hope everyone had a great February! Love you all.
