It is officially summer over here! We have already enjoyed our fair share of ice cream cones, sno-cones and water play with no plans to stop until fall.

With Luke riding his bike like a pro, we can walk farther distances without him getting tired. With this new freedom, we have walked all over town, including our favorite sno-cone shack by the Rec Center. The sugar gives energy for the ride home, just in time to crash for bedtime.

Our neighborhood had an end of the school year party the first week of June. They go all out! There were bounce houses, karaoke, mega-trampolines (which, Luke saw as astronaut training and waited in line for an hour and half to have a turn), sno-cones, cotton candy, carnival games, face painting...basically everything you need to kick off summer. The boys were hot, sticky messes by the end, which is a sign of a good time.

Luke got a water rocket for his birthday from papa Baldwin. This has given hours of entertainment! We bring a 5-gallon bucket and blast off until it is gone.

 Nana came for a quick visit before leaving for a work trip, during which, we got to dog-sit her dogs, Boo and Obi. Caleb was in dog heaven. Augie just wanted to play. Boo and Obi just wanted to sleep. We also had no fence since ours was in the process of being replace. We survived the week, all dogs were friends by the end and Augie still hates the car.

Splash pad season is upon us! We celebrated with a morning at the North Salt Lake splash pad with the Evans where the kids ran around, filled up their shirts with spouting water and enjoyed a morning cooling off in the water.

When nana got back from her trip, we went on a couple of hikes, celebrated birthdays and walked to get donuts from Dick's. Luke rode his bike the entire way there and back. He was such a trooper! We all just made ourselves comfortable in the chairs on display out front, enjoyed our donuts, then made the trek back. All the dogs napped the rest of the day.

These water beads Caleb got for his birthday have been a hit! The boys just play in them and love to get as much of their body covered in them as possible.

My dear friend, Jamie Glenn, and her family moved to Texas this month. We met up at Temple Square for a bittersweet farewell. I know they are onto to big adventures, but having good friends move far away is never fun. The boys found the splash pad at City Creek Center, completely soaking themselves and thus negating our plans of going to get the oil changed on the car after our farewell visit. You win some, you lose some.

With Caleb turning three, we had to say good bye to our beloved developmental therapist through early intervention. Lisa has been coming to our house, twice a month, to help Caleb develop skills, keep me on track with what I need to work on with him, and showing Luke the same love she shows Caleb. She always has energy, even though I KNOW she is probably exhausted, and we just love her. We've already been to visit her since her last day...

Other happenings in June:

Luke is still in full experimental mode. He loves doing experiments of all kinds, taking things apart, putting things together and helping with household jobs. His brain is always going and amazes me how he figures things out.

We have been scoping out nearby dog parks to let Augie run around in and make new friends. Luke and Dallin took him to one in Farmington where Luke found a "motorcycle racetrack." He now wants to take his bike to race on the track...

Summer things! Watermelon, dressing as cool as can be and enjoying the sun.
