We greeted April with the purchase of a new car! We had been in the market for a Highlander with captain seats in the middle row for awhile. Right before leaving for St. George, we found a 2016 Highlander with captain seats and leather seats AND for our budgeted price. We thought for sure it would be gone by the time we got back, but decided to wait and see. On our return trip home from St. George, we gave the dealership a call to find out they still had it! We drove up the next morning to check it out. The dealer was amazing, the car was amazing and after an afternoon of discussing, we had a new car for our growing family. The boys love it and Dallin and I are pretty in love, too. Some serious thought went in to so many details in this car that make it truly a dream family car. Now, to convince them to keep it as clean as it is right now...
Here are photos of baby girl at 36-weeks, 37-weeks and 39.5 weeks. She is getting doing great and we are all eager to meet her! There are bets being placed on days. I'm hoping she comes before all the birthdays in May, but we shall see.
Caleb got to have another sleep study since it has been 3-years since his last one. He is always such a trooper tolerating all the wires and gizmos attached to his body for a night. The results were what we had hoped for! He has graduated from severe sleep apnea to mild sleep apnea, which is huge! We are hoping as his throat and tongue muscles get stronger and his airways get bigger, that it will continue to improve.
Easter festivities started with the Utah Down Syndrome Foundation Easter party in Salt Lake. Caleb was in love with the Easter Bunny and wanted to see him as many chances as he could get. They both made flower pots, slime, and bracelets. We then went and walked cherry blossom lane afterwards at the capital.
For Easter, we died eggs and had festive bunny waffles. I don't think the boys enjoyed the novelty of the pancakes as much as Dallin and I had hoped. They mostly just wanted to devour the yumminess. We try to be "Pinterest Parents," but it rarely produces results worth the effort.
We finally made it to temple square to see the flowers in full bloom. The past few years, we always make it a week or two too late and are greeted with half dug up/ half dead flowers. This year, we went early and were greeted with a plethora of beautiful floral beds filled with tulips of all kind. The boys loved it. I loved it. Dallin tolerated it. Since temple square will be closed for the next 4 years for renovations, I was grateful we made it!
Luke and Caleb have discovered that if they put squeegez on their heads, they stick and they look like aliens. I had nothing to do with this discovery (cough, cough). Luke decided to stick them extra good one day int he bathtub, left them on for the entire bathing experience and then had scabs on his forehead for a god two weeks. Lesson learned...well, probably not. It was pretty funny to explain to hear him explain to people what happened when they asked, "What is on your head?!"
One Sunday, we walked to church, enjoyed the new 2-hour block (it seriously is so dreamy) and walked out to a down pour of rain. Luke and Dallin were the heroes of the day who ran home in the rainstorm to get the car while little Caleb and 39-week preggo mama waited at the church. To say they got a little wet is an understatement!
Other shennanigans of April: Sunday family movies/naps, conference watching on yoga balls, child labor, dentist appointments, math with chocolate chips, baby shower with way too generous people, walks, breakfast of champions made by Lukey-boy (cereal is always a superstar meal in this house), water beads with friends and super sad Caleb every day Dallin leaves.
And on the very last day of April, the best adventure of the year began...
