We put dream in quotations because these are jobs we think would be neat but would probably only actually enjoy doing in our dreams. Follow our thought process on this one: March=St. Patrick's Day=Leprechauns=money=jobs since we all know that to find money at the end of the rainbow is way too much work. I mean honestly, how many years have those leprechauns been searching for their pots o' gold?!? Now, sit back and enjoy our "dream" jobs.
Dallin
National Geographic Photographer - Traveling all over the world taking pictures of different landscapes and animals, what's not to like? Well, never having a permanent residence, living out of a suitcase, seeing your family very little, and eating what ever is available regardless of its origin could get old...
Fighter Pilot - Flying though the air at super sonic speeds, doing barrel rolls and dead falls while shooting rockets and high caliber bullets. The major down sides to this would be all the years of training before hand and and the possibility of death around every corner.
Animator - Designing animated movies and watching people's reactions to them must give a great feeling of satisfaction. Sure this feeling of satisfaction can come from other occupations, but seeing your own imagination and thoughts projected on a movie screen would give a great sense of accomplishment. Unfortunately, the creativity gene never knocked on my door.
Astronaut - Going into space and floating around would be an experience of a life time. But, you have to be super genius smart and devote way too much time to your job in order to do it.
Rally Car Racer - Once again, another career that despite how much fun it would be, is a little too dangerous for everyday life. The quick turns, high speeds, and casual jumps are followed up with steep cliff drops, roll cages and concussions.
Kelli
Event Planner - When I put this one down, Dallin said "Really?" Honestly, I would enjoy planning parties for people, spending their money and making their visions come to life. Basically, just getting to plan celebrations all day long would be worth the occasional crazy control client.
Archeologist - People fascinate me and to be able to travel around the world, studying the history of cultures and populations, discovering what contributed to where we are today would be wonderful.
Secret Agent - This is definitely one of those major "dream" jobs. For some reason the ability to be able to get out of any situation, defend myself against bad guys with my distinguished fighting skills and solving mysteries to save the world sound alluring to me. However, I am sure being an actual secret agent is nothing like this vision I have...
Advice Columnist - Dear Abby, Ann Landers and others get to read people's problems or sticky situations, then respond in a straight forward manner that does not beat around the bush. The best of both worlds. People eat their advice up and love it! Combining a therapist job with blunt honesty in an effort to help people overcome issues, all from the comfort of my own home would be great fun.
Sports Medic - I pursued this a bit in high school and loved the field. Being able to work with athletes post injury, on the field and off, using mental and physical therapies to help them achieve their goals has always sounded alluring. Maybe a bit of that "I don't have the talent so I'll help others who do achieve what I can't" mentality contributes to this dream.
There you have it. Although these jobs seem fun in our minds, we are happy with the career paths we are currently in for the time-being.
