That time again for a recap of the good ol' month of April, with a little bit of May. The weather was gorgeous in April! Lots of warm days filled with sunshine, shorts and beautiful blooming trees, flowers and bushes. May, however, has been cold, rainy and windy. I think the months have had a little identity confusion.
For Easter, we celebrated with the Malmstrom family (Dallin's mom's side), at their annual Easter party. We then voyaged up to Heber where we caught the Easter Train which had a petting zoo at the depot, the Easter bunny and dancing galore on the train. Luke had no fear when it came to the Easter bunny. In fact, he would actively search for them (yes, there were two...heebie-jeebies). The trainride lasted about 40 minutes and Luke loved every minute of the Heeber-creeper.

Poppa Green came for a quick visit on his way home from Idaho. Family drop ins are always nice surprises.
Dallin took Luke on a
daddy-son bonding adventure one Saturday, to give me time to shampoo the
carpets. They ended up at Silver Lake and were surprised with snow. I
got this cute picture halfway through the shampooing:
As many of you know, May is birthday month in the Baldwin household. All four siblings in the first two weeks of May. There are times that I miss those crazy, cake/pie/ice cream filled days when we all lived under the same roof. My little sister laughs at me because I admitted that since about
23-years-old, I honestly have to think about how old I am when someone
asks. The way I do this is just add 6 to her age (her and Bubs turned
21 this year, so they still know exactly how old they are). I have no
clue what I am going to do when they get to the point that they do not
know their age. This year was pretty low key for my birthday, which was perfect. Dallin made a fruit tart, we went to my new found favorite restaurant, Left Fork Grill, and then D got his co-worker to watch Luke while we went roller skating. Perfect.

The next day, I was busy co-hosting a baby shower for a good friend, so Luke and dad got to spend the day together. They even got a free balloon while out on their shennaigans!
For Mother's Day, my boys were wonderful. Snuggles in the morning (which, if you know Spud, you know cuddles are not his forte...too much to do!), breakfast, a special flower for my container planter and just a relaxing day while it stormed outside. Dallin got to give a talk at church for which he wrote a nice poem as well as described his mother perfectly while making me sound way better than I am. It was very sweet. First mother's day with a babes outside the womb was perfect.
 |
| Dallin's poem: M is for mood the kind all mothers are in, the kind that loves you even after you sin. O is for one, the one and only you get. Be sure to treat her special or she might ring our neck. T is for time; now that's an easy one, there is never enough of it, but she gets everything done. H is for home, its more than just walls; its a judgement free zone up and down the halls. E is for everything, that's what she gave to me, from band-aids to story-time to "More potatoes, please!" R is for respect, sometimes that is lacking; you better give it quick or she might give a smacking. God gave us sisters, gave us fathers and brothers, but couldn't be everywhere at once, so he gave us mothers. |

In conclusion of this very quick wrap up, enjoy Luke's faces:
 |
| This is his "Uh-oh" face. He purposefully drops something then looks at us with this face and says, "Uh-Oh." |
 |
| This is a common face these days. The kid packs his mouth full with so much food then just sits there while it dissolves or until he takes a drink and swallows food with the drink. Amazing he doesn't choke more. |
Dallin starts summer semester tomorrow. Two more semesters, people. TWO! I am excited to have just working Dad. We get spoiled on his school break weeks. We love you all and hope all is well.
