Merry December

Our Christmas season started with a little jaunt up to McCammon to visit grandma and grandpa Green at their new-old residence. We got to see the first official McCammon parade of lights with a cannon, lit horses, sleighs and tractors as well as feast on some of McCammon's finest chili. Although quaint, the parade was still fun to watch. Luke especially loved the tractors.

We then made our way across the great Nevada to Napa where we spent Christmas week. Thank goodness Bubs drove out with us through the night. Always makes it a little easier when there are three drivers instead of just two (let's face it, one because I pass out...). I know that Brad was upset that this year's Christmas road trip did not include a saucy audio book as last year's with aunt Terri did, but we sure are glad he came with us. We just had an audiobook about worm holes that included some choice language and violence. If Luke says a naughty word, blame it on Stephen King.

While in Napa, we were kept busy! We started with some last minute Christmas shopping and wrapping which was followed by another failed attempt at geocaching with nana in full search mode, and lots of puppy play with Obi and Boo. Pretty sure Luke thinks they are his dogs and wonders all the time where they are.

LOVED Christmas lights

We then had our traditional crab dinner on Christmas Eve, which never disappoints as well as a freezing cold expedition to the Oakland temple to see the lights. The last time Dallin and I had been there was nearly 4 years ago on our wedding day. I think we need to go back next time when it is not as cold as Antarctica.

Christmas day started with Santa and gifts at nana's, then a trip over to papa's where we got another visit from Santa. That jolly old fellow sure does know how to find his way about! Poor Lukey-babe was suffering from a nasty cold the whole week which meant that Christmas day, he was not a very happy camper. He just wanted to whine, snuggle and eat chocolate kisses (because those make everything great anytime, right?!). He even fell asleep on Dallin for over an hour after gifts at papa's, which has not happened since he was probably 9 or 10 months old. No joke. We still had fun, though and got to enjoy papa's yummy pancakes.

Once noon hits in our family, Christmas ends, and papa birthday celebrations begin. We made pulled pork sandwiches, homemade onion rings done by Dallin and THE chocolate cake thanks to nana, since I am not a fan of baking, especially that cake and Lexi was working her tail fins off. Life was good.

While there, Dallin FINALLY got to partake of the infamous Rutherford ribs as a happy graduation present.

*Sidenote: Can I just reiterate how incredibly proud I am of that boy for working so hard to support his family while going to school?!*

Back to Rutherford, it did not disappoint. The boy was in heaven eating those savory, slide off the bone babies. Well worth the 4 year wait of us telling him how good they were and the 2 hour wait to get a table.

That about wraps up our Christmas and 2014 year. We were excited to tell the fam in person about baby #2 joining our family in July!
Already sleep deprived, so why not add another!

"I'm getting a what?!"

Hope everyone had a happy holiday season! Love y'all!
