Caleb is 5 Months Old!

Oh my goodness. Five months is always the point where I think, "They are not little, littles anymore!" With Luke, since he was a stinker of an infant, I could not wait for him to get older. However, with my snuggly, mellow Caleb, I'm crying a little thinking that in just a month he will be half a year old. Maybe a little of it is with my second, I now realize how truly quickly they grow up and it hurts my heart to see that baby face thin into a little boy. Caleb is still squishy and a large part of me wants him to stay squishy forever. Regardless, I am loving seeing him continue to grow, learn and just be awesome. Here is what he has been up to:

  • Loves rolling onto his tummy for tummy time
  • Toys are a favorite, especially his crazy ball, holey ball and ring rattle thing
  • His feet are always entertaining
  • Will give you the biggest, most heart warming, full body smile every time you smile at him
  • Loves to sing songs and nursery rhymes
  • Responds to his name
  • Snuggles galore
  • Screams with glee when Luke is supposed to be taking a nap
  • Working on sitting with less support
  • His laugh consists of a grunt of glee and gurgly scream
  • Has had licks of butternut squash soup, pasta sauce and gravy. None of which hold a light to his mama's milk
  • Gets super excited when we hold him in a standing position
  • Impresses his Early Intervention therapist, Joan, every time he comes because he is amazing
  • Got to meet Zack, a fellow 26-year-old homie with an extra chromie, and his family. These are by far my favorite get togethers because of all the love and insight we receive.
We are head over heels for this little boy. He is quite popular wherever we go, even if he is not there, people come up to us, strangers and friends, always asking how Caleb is doing. His light definitely shines brightly.

Happy 5 months, little bubba! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished. Love you to the ends of the universe.
